DesignxICH: Oral traditions and expressions

This volume of the DESIGNxICH series explores the role of digital technologies in the enhancement of Intangible Cultural Heritage, with a specific focus on oral traditions and expressions. The publication emerges from a practice-based research project combining case study analysis, skills and technology mapping, and strategic reflection aimed at diverse cultural stakeholders.

The book introduces the conceptual and methodological framework adopted to investigate the challenges and opportunities of safeguarding oral heritage in the digital age. It examines how cultural institutions are engaging with oral heritage through digital initiatives, and how creative and cultural industries contribute to this process through emerging technologies and collaborative models. The volume also identifies key sociotechnical trends influencing the field and offers interpretive tools for policy makers shaping future strategies.

The DESIGNxICH series is being published by Franco Angeli, Design International.
